Hello
After installing a Domino Utility Server on a Windows server, the setup process fails after 20% completed with the message:
“The server is not responding. The server may be down or you may be experiencing network problems.”
I checked network connectivity between the servers (a Domino Enterprise Server on AIX and the Windows server with the newly installed Domino Utility Server).
I would appreciate any help!
Subject: Tips
I am assuming you tested with a ping and a telnet to port 1352. If all its ok, keep reading.
After you set up the second server and put the domino server, how are you entering the server? I recommend putting the Domino name AND also the IP address so it could connect and copy the names. You could also make a file system copy of the names and make the server setup read it from there.
Another thing to check is if the server.id was copied during the failed setup. If it was, the server setup will fail again when trying to copy the ID. Just remove it from the data folder and do it again.
Hope it helps
Subject: problem resolved
Although the the hostname is resolved correctly, I inserted the IP address instead of the hostname in the field “Fully qualified server name” and the setup completed successfully.
Many thanks for this suggestion!
