Server replication Timeout

Hello.

We updated a server from 6.03 to 6.5.1 and put it to a new internet service provider, so it got a new ip address. Before there was a server to server replication with another server (solaris, 5.08) which worked well.

After updating and moving the server and changing the ip address in server and configuration documents, the replication works sometimes and for some dbs the is the following error occurs:

Unable to store document in server/domain database.nsf (NoteID = 1234) from database.nsf (NoteID = 1345): Network operation did not complete in a reasonable amount of time; please retry

or

Replication of server/domain database.nsf was cancelled due to timeout

The provider says, that there aren’t network problems, could there be other problems to

crete this problem?

thanks in advance

I assume from your desription that the servers are remote from each other and routing via an ISP.The default time out for the TCPIP port is 5 sec. From experience I have found that 5sec is too short for some remote connections and have upped the setting to a higher figure. You can either try upping the time by 5sec chunks or just go for a much higher figure like 30secs.

You can find the info in Admin Help under

Changing the TCP/IP connection-time-out interval

hope that helps

thanks for your answer, but I already setthe timeout interval to 30 secs without

success, now I changed it to 120 secs

to see if that helps.
