I’ve got two clustered servers. One server had to be shut down. When it came up again I triggered a replication manually from the console:
replicate myserver mydatabase.nsf
The console indicated that the replication push and pull was successful. However, no documents were added. I triggered the replication manually from my Notes client and the documents did replicate.
Why has this happened? I checked the ACL of the databases but the servers have manager access.
Did you specify the fully distinguished name of the server at the console, i.e. myserver/svr/acme? If you supplied just the common name then replication would take place but your server would get only the default access in the ACL instead of manager.
when you kicked off replication from the console perhaps the cluster replicator already had that one in queue…and therefore Domino “lied” to you…as many Lotus messages do…
Perhaps there was just enough of a time difference between the server clocks so that the replicator “thought” there was nothing to do…but when yorr clinet (and ID) did it the time factor was not an issue.
Going forward…I’d clear history (cutoff date on DB props) and watch next “normal” replication. Make sure you have anough Replication Logging enabled to let you see the result also in LOG.NSF.
