Server not creating CACHE.NDK

Hi’

After updating servers, I was forced to move templates away from data dir.

Unfortunately I moved CACHE.NTF also.

Now after starting the server, it will not create CACHE.NDK.

I have of course tried to copied back CACHE.NTF.

The server will still not create CACHE.NDK

Why will the server not create the CACHE.DNK file?

When starting NLNOTES.EXE on the server, a CACHE.NDK is created, but will that be used by the server?

Subject: cache.ntf is not the template for cache.ndk

and, as far as I know, the server doesn’t need a cache.dnk either, it’s client side only. That would explain why one is created if you start nlnotes.exe on the server, as nlnotes.exe launches the client. A client’s cache.ndk stores design elements of databases that are opened by that client.
