In our case it was the server field “TCP/IP port status:”. This was set to “Redirect to SSL”. When set to “Enabled” it worked.

I closed my Skype and changed the port number in Server Configuration document to 8080 from 80. It worked. Thanks a lot

I’ll assume that HTTP is working OK on your server. Any chance you are redirecting to HTTPS? If so, I think all you have to do is edit the URL and put an “S” in it.

It doesnt work even when i put the s inThanks anyway

This might not be helpful, but your servers’ http port is enabled/disabled through its Server Document, under the series of tabs: Ports… Internet Ports… Web.There’s also a place on the first Ports tab (Notes Network Ports) that you can enable/disable the TCP/IP ports, but I’m not certain what effect that has. All I know is that my servers’ net address is on that tab too, and it is enabled, so you might want to check it.
Like I said- I could be completely wrong about it. I don’t even know if you can start HTTP if the port is disabled, but it’s worth a look.

Double check that Windows is not running IIS. If IIS has bound to that port the HTTP task will not be able to take over port 80
