Hi,
I have a partitioned server which occasionally ‘forgets’ that the above setting is in the ini file. I found this from a ‘trace servername’ command, and found the address for the other partition running on the box, resulting in the expected “Connected to wrong server” error message.
This is causing various things to fail, such as mail reports, and possibly others which we haven’t discovered yet.
Does anyone have an idea why this setting should intermittently be dropped, or forgotten?
Many thanks,
Dave
Subject: Server ‘forgets’ TCPIP_TCPIPADDRESS ini setting
Couple of things to check:
-
What does the Ports= line say? TCPIP?
-
Are there other instances of the TCPIP_TCPIPADDRESS line?
-
Is it properly formatted? Should be TCPIP_TCPIPADDRESS=0,[IP Address]:1352
Is this happening on any other partitions?

As follows
PORTS=TCPIP
TCPIP=TCP, 0, 15, 0,32768
TCPIP_TCPIPADDRESS=0,xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1352
No duplicates. And it’s not happening on the other partition as far as I’m aware (good job, since that’s the admin server for the directory - and it’s a 100 server domain)
