Server Error: You are not authorized to use the server

Hi,

Problems with accessing a the “inbox” or MAIL from the Notes server from a client machine after logging in as user with passwd.

I have changed ACL’s on the Mail DB: making sure the notes server has server/manager access user has person/editor and changed to person/manager.

The Notes server has persongroup/manager access, anonymous is not listed and other server domains have no access.

Can anyone help or are more details needed?

Sounds like the user ID has wrong certificate - nothing in common with the server ID. Are you sure you’re logging on with the right user?

Yep, the username is correct and in the names.nsf(AB).Then, for extra measure I added teh user to a group on the server.

I just tried accessing my workspace now.

Then, I choose file–>databse-open and found the server and then the mail dir, it works?

Why couldn’t I find the server and access teh mail file when I choose file-db-open as I first logged on with the welcome screen?

Make sense?

The error “You are not authorized to use the server” is controlled by the “access server” and “not access server” settings in the server doc. The ACL on a particular database is unrelated. My guess is you tried to hit the server before it had a copy of the person doc (or before it realized it had a copy.)
