Server email address

I noticed a strange change in events when I upgrade my box to R6. [My group was to do a fresh install of R6 and create the users, mail-in databases, website document, and configuration. No many users in the directory so it was not a lot of manual work.]

At work I have some applications which will send email out… When it does it the server’s name is in the email address.

When I had a R5 server at a separate non work office location (like my friend’s consulting company where I have a box for an user group using domino), it disconnects with a DSN error. At my employer we have notes connection to a relay server (UNIX SENDMAIL). My notes server will make the server email address to be “ServerName@CN=ServerName/O=OrganizationName.domain.com”.

Is there a way to make server just have a normal email address? I know I can create a

have a normal internet name. As an example postfix or sendmail will just do username@servername.domain.com. Now if I spoof the email address to be “ServerName/Organziation@domain.com” it can successfully connect to a R6 server.

Thanks in advance… cheers…

I would suggest checking the Global Domain document and see how it is converting the outgoing Internet e-mail addresses.

Well I was able to survive without a Domain document in this situation. Anywhere else?
