Server crashing, but HTTP is still responding

Hi, Dears,

I have one server which is serving domino regular services and http for Inotes.

This server, once in a while - once a day, lately - is hanging for common clients but is still responding for those which are accessing through web access.

I can type tell http commands on the console, but if I try any different, such as drop or sh port, it has no answer.

For making server to respond for everybody again, I must restart it entirely. When the domino server is shutting down, a lot of messages like “waiting for http session to complete” shows and it never ends. I must restart the OS itself.

Please, help me!

Thank you

Miguel Dias

Ok. I’ve got all logs enabled and now I just enabled http Thread Debug. As soon as it happens again, I’ll run NSD.

Thank you!

Hi, JYR.

I runned NSD on the hang situation. But the file generated does not show me any fatal, panic, segmentation, etc. Actually I can’t see no abnormality on the file.

What should I search for, exactly?

Thanks again

Miguel

In your previous crashs, you have NSD files. The files are located in the data directory\IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPORT

The files are names by the date of the crashs.

So you should find something in there.

The manual NSD are explained here. It’S probably a memory issue. This article will explain how to check for high memory usage.
