Good morning,
We installed server based archiving. And everythings works fine.
Just one question.
When a user select some documents, and wants to archive them (actions->Archive->Archive selected documents), it works fine.
When he choses actions->Archive->Archive now he gets the message “Server based archiving enabled - unable to initiate archiving from local workstation”.
Can someone explain to me the difference between those 2 options.

Subject: Archiving
There are two types of archiving, server based archiving and client based archiving. With client based archiving, all archiving (even archiving based on a a criteria) is initiated by the client. In server based-archiving, the archiving is initiated by the server, or as you are seeing, the client can archive selected documents, but not run against the criteria. NOTE that client-based archiving does not refer to the location of the archive DB, but rather the initiator of the archiving.
