I’m pretty sure about what I should do, but I’m not an admin and want to check that I’m not going to cause any problems doing it.
[The Problem]
We have two servers, the primary we use all the time and the secondary is not used at all, both R6. I use the second server every now and then, but I’m listed in all the admin groups. Now I tried to give some other users access by adding them to the ACL of a few databases on that server, but it refuses to let them in, saying that they are not authorised or have insuficent access (both from the web client and notes client). Quite strange, so I look in the server document on the security tab at the “Access this Server” field and it has a group that contains everyone in the company. The group is used a lot so I know that works and its not a mail only group. As a standard readers field, if “Access this Server” is blanked it will grant everyone access. So I go to make this change, but as soon as I click into the field I get the message “Entry not found in index”.
It’s trying to find something and can’t, so I change the value to blank and click save and close, then a “Cannot locate field” message pop’s up. And still I am the only person that can access the server.
[The Solution]
So I’m thinking that I’ve got to delete that document (being the server document) and re-create it. Now my thought is to do this will the view actions “Delete Server” and then “Add Server”.
Is this sensible and what are the repucussions? Also, are there any other thing that I should try first?
Thanks
