I think there has been a change in the mail template, somewhere between 6.5 & 8.5, and I’d like to get confirmation.
With the Notes 6.5 design, when I went into a mail database (not my own, I’ll use “Call Center” as an example), and forwarded a message from it, the recipient would see that the message was both “Sent By” and “Forwarded by” me.
After updating that mail database’s design to 8.5, when I forward a message from it, the database’s owner (example: John Smith) is placed in the Principal field, and therefore it looks like John Smith was the Sender.
I guess my question is, why did they do that? With the new behaviour, John Smith isn’t involved at all. If anything, it should use the database title (“Call Center”), not John Smith.
In our case, we have a lot of people forwarding from the Call Center database, and in most cases it is not John Smith, so the Sent bBy information is misleading.
