Subject: Re: Sent By
Hi Dayantha,
This can be caused by a number of things. What I am thinking is that the Sender of the Message was:
-
Sending the Message from someone’s else’s mail file. For example, John Doe access Steve Smith’s Mail File and sends a Message to you. You receive it and it says “Steve Smith” in the Letterhead with “Sent By: John Doe” below it.
-
The Sender of the message is working in their Mail File, but they may not be listed as the “Mail File Owner”. To check this, sign into a Notes Client as the user (using their ID of course) and open their Mail File. From there, go to More–>Preferences (or go to File–>User Preferences–>Mail. I would check to verify they are, in fact the mail file owner. Additionally, I would check the Access and Delegations tab.
2a) Are any of these “Sent By” messages sent from anyone who has delegated right to their Own Mail File, or to Someone Else’s Mail File?
I am leaning more towards the fact that it may have to do with the Mail File Owner field.

-Bob
Subject: Might also be a Principle field …
Outgoing mails could contain a Principle and a From field.
The Principle value would be what you see as the top name, and the actual name of the sender would be underneath.
