Sending Email Using POP3/SMPT -- Yahoo, MSN?

Hi,

I have a quick question. Currently I have configured my Lotus Notes Client to receive email from my MSN, Yahoo etc… email accounts. I have no problem in getting my emails. However, I would like to send email… reply to email where email is delivered through the provider account gateway. I would like to know if there is a way to do that… for example.

If I get email from my … abc@msn.com account in my Lotus InBox. I want to reply to that email from my lotus inbox, but I want to email to be routed through msn network so that when the user I replied the email to gets it it shows from abc.msn.com

I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks

WK

Subject: RE: Sending Email Using POP3/SMPT – Yahoo, MSN??

Thanks for the info… but here is the problem. I already have those documents configured and am receiving the email without problem. This issue is as follows:

All POP/SMTP mail providers such as Comcast, Yahoo, MSN etc… require that Mail to be send using the client they provided that is normally to prevent relay.

What I am trying to accomplish and to have ALL my emails from different POP, SMTP etc… in ONE INBOX. I have accomplished that.

Now the problem I run into is when I respond to one of those emails that I got from my MSN etc… account. I want those emails to be routed from my notes client to MSN etc… rather than from my Domino Server.

May be you need to setup two Location documents in notes client. Atleast, one special location document is needed for outgoing mail to SMTP server in internet, with the special setting “Send outgoing mail: directly to internet”.

Verify if you have a database names SMTP.box on your local machine Notes data directory.

Also confirm if you have verified following points in the help:

To send Internet mail through an SMTP server

  1. If necessary, switch to a location from which you can access your SMTP account.

Tip A location where you can use the accounts has a “Send outgoing Internet Mail” entry on the Replicator page.

  1. Open the Replicator page.

  2. Click the “Send outgoing Internet mail” entry and choose Actions - Replicate Selected Database.

Notes sends any outgoing mail waiting in the outgoing Internet mail box (SMTP.BOX).

Tip Rather than repeatedly choosing to replicate, you can set up a replication schedule on the Replicator page.
