Sender name (RFC822 Phrase): Problem with German Umlaut

Hi,

Notes/Domino 6.0.5 German versions

strange problem here with sender’s display name (RFC822-Phrase) in Mails to the Internet. If the family name contains an German “Umlaut” (e.g. “ü”) the display name appears without separating space, e.g.

“KlausMüller”.

If the family name does not contain an Umlaut, it appears correct with space as

“Klaus Mueller”.

If both name-parts contain Umlaut, the display name ist also correct:

“Jörg Müller”.

The router is configured via the Configuration document as follows:

the field “Handle RFC822-phrases” on Tab MIME=>Advanced=>Advanced Outbound options is set to

“Use common name as phrase”

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Tom

Tom,

we also see this kind of behaviour. I suspect this is a regression bug in the Domino CD to MIME conversion code since the sender’s name appeared correct before upgrading from Domino 6.5.2 to 6.5.4. In case you have a support contract with Lotus you should consider to open a SPR on this issue.

Uli

Thanks, I did this - It’s a known problem in 6.0.5/6.5.4.
