We are planning to provide mail services using domino server - webmail client instead the actual domino server - pop3 client because it will be more easy for configuration and administration (i.e. nothing to install in clients!!).
But some users as one or more aliases pointing to the some mailbox, and use une or more outook express account to reply with this aliases.
does it will be possible with domino webmail client ? how can i do it?
Thanks!
Subject: Easy, but
Any user can have multiple adresses, just add them to the username, but leave full name at the first place. However, all the answers will use the same internet address.
So you need to create multiple person documents which refers to the same mail database (or not)
Hope this helps.

Subject: or not?..
not! :-(I had tryed to create a new user with the same mail db in person document, and giving it full access to mail database (or it can’t open the mailbox)
But when i made a web login and with the new user an send mail… the sender is the db owner!!
As you can see in this image i change the db owner, and it works! But it is too complicated for my base level user, and too free for the advance user (anybody could send mail with any sender!!) and, last but not least, when the mail arive the sender address appear to be “derived from envelope” so i think the mail is not completely well formed.
The thing we need is the chance to select the sender alias when the user is creating or sending a mail just like outlook express or any pop3 client do!
The only way i see at this time is create users, without aliases, that owns their mailfile and give the real user access grant.
The real user will use the “open other mail” option and will use a new window to manage the aliases mailbox…
This option open the addressbook and the user can select the owner of the mailfile he want’s open but it is far away from our needs!!
Nobody use aliases in webmail?
