Hi Hariom,

I believe Palle is correct. Your user is configured to work in their Local Replica. To change this setting so that the user works off the Server, go to the user’s Personal Address Book (also known as “Contacts” or their local names.nsf) and select “Advanced” in the left navigation pane. From there, select “Locations” and open the Location the user is currently logged in on. If you don’t know what location the user is on, look at the bottom right of the Notes Client, you will see either “Office”, “Online”, “Home”, etc.

Once you have the user’s Location Document open, you want to navigate to their Server Tab. Ensure “Home/Mail” Server has the correct Hierarchical Name in the field (i.e.: LNMail/Boston). Next, select the Mail Tab and ensure “Mail File location” is set to “On Server” and the “Mail File” Field is set to the user’s mail file name (i.e.: mail\jdoe). Lastly, ensure the “Domino mail domain” is filled in correctly as well (i.e.: BostonDom).

There is a great deal of information regarding this in the Notes Client Help. Search for the topic “Mail Settings for a Location” and it will provide you with information regarding all of the Settings on the Mail Tab in the location document.

Please feel free to respond with any additional questions Hariom - I will check back shortly.

Good Luck!

Regards,

-Bob

Subject: Location and/or replication

Hi,

From the info you are giving I am guessing you are running mail locally and that the problem might have two sides:

the sending part might be that you in your location-document has a to high number for Mail - transfer outgoing mail if:

set it to one and the mail gets send direct instead of waiting for more mails to be sent

on the recieving end decrease the time between replication intervalls.

Good luck.
