Hi - I’ve got a question about sending a doclink in email to open a view in the Notes client. I’d like to send users an email that has a doclink that will allow them to open a page that has an embedded view. Is there a way to do this in the client? I know how to do something like this in a browser via a URL, but is there some way to compose such a link for the client?

I used to use Notes url’s only occasionally, but a lot more since Alan Lepofsky post this tip: http://www.alanlepofsky.net/alepofsky/alanblog.nsf/dx/notes-urls

I tried that method of getting the Notes:// link for the page, as described in the article. Doing that does not return a value to use as the link at all. When I click on the down arrow twice, I get nothing in the address bar.

You mentioned that you can build a browser url. The Notes:// url should be almost identical. The format isNotes://SERVERNAME/DB/VIEW/DOC
where db can be either the repid or the actual filepath/name; view and doc can be either the name or unid.
Here is a really short one that opens your local nab:
Notes:///names.nsf

That worked! I did it of the form:
Notes://servername/dbpath/DB/pagename?OpenPage and it loaded exactly what I needed- the embedded view in the page I wanted it to display in.
Thanks!
