Selective replication as restoring documents from backup replica... problem

Hi!Try to imagine the following scenario.

One Notes database is replicated and then zipped each day for backup purposes.

The original db is being used as any other db - the documents are being created, modified and deleted.

On day - crash occurs and some documents in the database get damaged (or someone simply deletes some important documents by accident).

Fortunately - we have our backups, so we can easily recover those documents. But… I’d like to recover ONLY those documents I choose, not any deleted documents in the past (after the backup replica was created).

How should I do it?

If I do that way:

  1. Unzip one of our backup replica on local computer

  2. In the oryginal db perform fixup (if docs have been damaged - so they are removed from the db)

  3. In the replication settings, on space savers tab put 0, and click OK (to remove the deletion stubs from the oryginal db).

  4. On the unzipped local replica create temporary folder and put the documets to be recovered into that folder

  5. On the “Advanced” tab of “Replication settings” dialog window select when ‘Acme Server’ receives from ‘Marek Wojtaszek’ and check"documents in specified views or folder"

then… IT DOES NOT HELP AT ALL!

ALL previously deleted documents (also those deleted consciously!!) are being replicated to the main replica! :((((

How should I set the replication to replicate back to the database ONLY those documents I need?

Please - give any advice…

Marek
