Security - Tracking Access to Specific Documents

I am looking for a way to track access to documents in a Notes database. Info should be user - date - document ID - action (ie… view edit print). Also the log must not be accessible for change. I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on where to start looking or if they know of a product or method to do this?

Thanks Doug - I guess I might have been a little too specific in my search.

You may also want to poke around at Interface Matters. I just ran across an app I downloaded from there a while back that is a doc tracking system. Way cool and probably just what you’re looking for (or close enough for government work).

Government work? Depending on the department, that can make your FDA hoop-jumping seem like a walk in the park. (Note: the complexity of the regulations surrounding application specifications is inversely proportional to the actual importance times the square of the actual required security of the data being handled. So while “close enough” may be close enough for, say, maintaining a worst-case nuke counterattack scenario, it wouldn’t be suitable for an employee out-board for an office the National Parks Service.)

LOL…I work in the FDA regulated world and spend most of my day documenting what I’ve done rather than actually doing. I guess the less I do, the less chance I have of hurting someone.
