I have created a security policyof type ‘Explicit’. Following are the configurations.
Enforce Password Expiration Notes & Internet
Required Change Interval 1 days
Allowed Grace Period 1 days
Password History (Notes only) 15 passwords
I assign this policy to already registered user.
After the above mentioned settings system should enforce the user to not define the password that he has already have. User change the password to previously assigned. System allowed to do so. It seems that policy is not being implemented.
Note: I have registered a new user just before creating policy.
Help will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Subject: Authentication to the home server is required
The user will need to authenticate to their home server in order to download the policy. Like most downloads of this sort (updated certiicates, name changes, recovery information, etc) this is only checked once per day, so it may take a day or two for all of the clients to download changes to policies.

Thanks for your responses.
I have identified that we also need to set server security setting “Check passwords on Notes IDs” to Yes and then apply policy. It works !
Subject: Security Policy Settings not working
have you enabled password checking in the person docs as well? This is a field on the advanced tab in the person doc. Not sure if this is required when using a policy as it may override that setting but it’s worth a check to see if that fixes it.
