Section security control with user roles

Hi. I am making a big form that contains all the information of each employees. It contains some confidential information, and what I would like to do is to control it hidden by user roles.

There is 6 sections, and each of them are to be viewed by different departments, eg HR/Finance, etc. I have managed to set the user roles and hide the sections by @IsNotMember([Role] ; @Userroles) and works, however, the value of each field still can be seen from the document propaties, and is not enough for the security reason. I need all the values in a section to be hidden completely.

As I can not really write a proper lotus script, I thought I would get some help from here to gain some more ideas.

Could anyone advise me if what I want can be done easily?

Thanks.

Thank you for your quick response. I’ve checked the thread… it is harder than what I thought it would be.

Re:your answer “Hide the database design”, this will not prevent showing values if a user creates thier own views, will it? In this case, if I disabled any function for users to create a personal view, the problem could possibly be solved…?

I also have never used any encrypt function. Whats the major risk would it be if I was to use the function? Do you recommend it?

I really appreciate your help! Thank you.
