Second post: cannot allocate space

Hi there,

small problem here. I have a database (2.8GB) in an environment which replicates with 5 R6 servers and one R5 server. ODS on the R6 is 43, 41 on the R5. The database on the R5 returns the error “Database is corrupt: cannot allocate space”. R6 is working fine. The error can also occur after updall -B. So we turned this option off. The error also occurs (on the R5) after a reboot. Can anybody shine some light on this matter. There are attachments involved in the replication process. And a lot of views.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Edsko Hekman

Hi,

if you modified your database with R6 Designer it could be corrupt. Did you tried “compact -R databse.nsf”. Try and make after that fixup.

Thanks for your response. According to the admins, compacting and fixup takes about 4 - 5 hours to finish. We are trying to migrate to R6 asap to solve the problem.
