Searchview and current embedded view

I have been working on this a while and searched the forum to no avail. I use a viewtemplate / embedded view to control how my view looks. I am attempting to create a search. If I use a hotspot button and add @Command([ViewShowSearchBar]) the search works fine. I use a link instead of a button. I am trying

http://server/test.nsf/universalID/$searchForm?SearchView

I have this in an href on my viewtemplate. I would expect it to search on the specific view that is open, but it bombs. I get an invalid url message. What am I doing wrong? Thansk in advance.

Are you trying to open a view or a form to search?

The url looks like a search on a view but it looks like there are no search parameters. If the view is embedded in a form it may not work either.

use your hotspot button, and paste the URL it sends the browser to into the link instead and see if that works.
