Searching for newer emails

Dear All,

I have a problem which might appear quite simple, in fact even mundane.

Whenever I try to search for a particular email that has just arrived, the search results do not yield that.

However, if my Lotus Notes Client software is restarted and the search made again, the particular email shows up amongst the search results.

I am at a loss as to how and why this happens.

Can someone please help.

Subject: index update frequency

The index has not yet updated to include that document/email. You can check that the update frequency is immediate by going File>Application>Properties, click on the next-to-last tab (magnifying glass), and look at the dropdown beside “update frequency”. It should be set to immediate for email. Other databases, you might not need immediate, depending. But also keep in mind that even if it is set to immediate, it takes some time for something to be added to the index. This might be slower or faster depending on the number of documents in the database, how busy the server is, etc.
