Search Text Highlighting

We are having an issue with slower computers freezing or going extremely slow when displaying a document with tabs and search text highlighted. AVG Resident scan is the cause since it kicks off each time the highlighted word is displayed.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Have a form with multiple tabs on it. Have AVG installed. We use AVG 8.5 Network edition.

  2. Using the view full text search, search for a word that will exist on a document displayed by the above mentioned form.

  3. Open the document and click a tab which has the word you searched for on it be highlighted.

Each time the highlighted word is displayed or if you scroll and the screen repaints with the word still visible, AVG resident scan kicks off and scans something. It only occurs if the word is displayed on the current screen. If it isn’t on the current tab or you scroll it off the current screen no issues.

I couldn’t find a way to disable highlighting (nor did anyone on the forum). Anyone know any other options? Disabling AVG isn’t an option. I can’t isolate what file resident shield is checking to make an exception (though that would be the least desirable method).

Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated
