Search not returning document

My search code is not returning the document to the collection, even though this has worked for me for years in the Windows world. However, I am now working in an AIX environment, and I haven’t used this code on AIX yet. Are there different characters I should be using because I am on the AIX platform??

Here’s a snippet of the code…

strContactUNID = docContact.UniversalID

strFormula = |ContactUNID=“}+strContactUNID+{”|

Set collDuplicates = dbMail.Search(strFormula, Nothing, 0)

I have tried with & instead of +. I have tried with spaces everywhere. The only time the document collection comes up with 1 is when I use the actual UNID instead of the variable.

I know I occasionally run into problems using + instead of & when concatenating strings …

oops, and also I like to use the same quote marks, so either {} or || but don’t mix them.

If I’m reading your code correctly, you are interchanging these.
