There is one post already on this subject, but I feel it necessary to put in another. The Search Bar always uses a standard font and fontcolor Black. There is no way to change this. When you try to use some dark color for the area surronding the view, the actionbar and the view header colors can be set, making them show up exactly as I want them. This background color is also used for the Search Bar. The foreground color of the Search Bar font cannot be set!
