SCT Problem

I’ve created an SCT template & the subsequent NSF’s that will inherit the design. I later changed those NSF’s to inherit from a different SCT. I then ran the convert agent again. I tried running one of the agents in the before mentioned NSF’s & it wouldn’t run. I then thought I’d have a look at the design of the NSF’s. The nsf’s all had 3 untitled folders, which neither of the SCT’s in question had ANY folders. So I thought I’d check the logs and found that the conversion did indeed create folders that it shouldn’t have. I thought I would try and change the SCT to a simple master template and then replace the design of one of the NSF’s. Which the agent in question was not removed. Now if I try & open the agent in designer it say’s that the referenced design note can’t be found. It will not delete from Designer manualy in order to copy a know good agent in. It just so happens that I was reading about the orphaned agent note issue recently. Is this related? I find in incredibly hard to believe that they’ve had at least 2 years to fix this and havn’t (even though that seems to be the case from reading the recurring posts). Enough ranting & back to to problem… Running convert fails on every NSF now regardless of the template used. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have a suggestion to fixing the design of these NSF’s? SCT seems a great thing but if performing the tasks that I have breaks the design it was wasted effort & better spent fixing orphaned agent notes… Ooops I said enough ranting, gomen. Thanks in advance ~R

A what template?

And this post is totally unreadable. Might I suggest yopu edit it and break it up into paragaraphs to enhance readability.

That’s it for my rant.

Subject: SCT Problem (Single Copy Template)

As requested this has been cleaned up a bit

I created an Single Copy Template (SCT) and the NSF’s that will inherit the design. I later changed those NSF’s to inherit from a different SCT. I then used the load convert command again (just to be sure).

I tried running one of the agents in the before mentioned NSF’s & it wouldn’t run. After looking over the design of the NSF’s I found that they all had 3 untitled folders.

Neither of the SCT’s in question had ANY folders. So I thought I’d check the logs and found that the conversion did indeed create folders when it shouldn’t have (unless this is related to Single Copy Templates).

Next I thought I would try and uncheck the “Single Copy Template” option making it a simple master template, remove the agent fromt the template and then replace the design of one of the NSF’s. The agent was not removed.

Now if I try & open the agent in designer it say’s that the referenced design note can’t be found. The agent cam not be manually deleted using Designer. I tried compacting the NSF to no avail. I tried fixup that didn’t do it either.

It just so happens that I was reading about the orphaned agent note issue recently. Could this be related? I find in incredibly hard to believe that they’ve had at least 2 years to fix this and havn’t (even though that seems to be the case from reading the recurring posts). Enough ranting & back to to problem…

Running convert fails on every NSF in question regardless of the template used. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have a suggestion to fixing the design of these NSF’s?
