Scroll wheel on Mac OS X client

I’m using the 6.5.4 client on Mac OS X 10.4.3 Tiger, which I’ve just moved to after using Notes for several years on the Windows platform (and Linux via Crossover Office).

The two things I miss the most on the Mac Notes client are the ability to use the scroll wheel, and also marking messages as read by hitting the “Insert” key, which seems to be mapped to “Help” on OS X.

Are there any known workarounds for either of these issues? Thanks.

If you look in the help file for your Notes application, go to the index tab and type in “Keyboard Shortcuts”

You will see a few dozen entries for MAC keyboard shortcuts that you can print out for reference.

Thanks for the response. Those are good references. I looked through all of the Macintosh-specific documents that I found, but still don’t see any shortcut for “Mark selected document as read”. I tried various combinations of the Mac modifier keys (Control/Option/Command) with the Insert key, but it seems they all bring up the help database :(.

Well, fooey, unfortunately I no longer have access to my mini-mac at work. But, you can resort to keyboard stuff:

I can use ALT+ E +R to Run the EDIT>>Unread Marks>>Mark Selected Read.

In MAC, I think this would be OPTION KEY + E + R

EVen if you were to create a series of agents, it would only reduce the keystroke to two: i.e. supposed I created an agent:

“Mark _Read” with one command: @Command([ToolsMarkSelectedRead])

To invoke it, I would have to OPTION + A + R

So, I think you might be stuck with three key strokes to replace the INS windows key. :frowning:
