Screening for the # sign in attachment URLs

Ok, here’s the deal.

I have several forms on the web and users of various skill levels attached files. Often they will attach a file with a # in the name. Of course as a link this does not work on the web because it causes the URL to truncate. Anybody have any solutions for programmatically screening for the # sign or any other solution? And no. educating the user has not worked.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Not sure that this answers your question but couldnt you check for the “#” in the attachment name, if so, on the QS detach the file, rename it, and reattach it?

At one time I had a client based form that would detach all attachments the user created and renamed them attachment1, attachtment2, etc so I know that is possible, but you would have to add a little more logic to it, but I belive it is possible.
