I was just upgraded from Notes 7 to 8.5.1. Whenever I compose a new email there are little “artifacts” (small specs or dots appearing above and/or below letters) appearing when I type. Also, whenever I click inside text to insert my cursor, it leaves a “ghost” image of my cursor in the text. It gets really annoying when editing an email because I have to try to figure out which is the “real” cursor. I have confirmed that when people receive my emails, these “artifacts” do not appear. Has anyone seen this before? I seem to be the only one at my company having this problem.
I have a similar issue, but worse. If I use a pull down menu, whatever item I choose from the menu stays on screen and never leaves.
For example, if I do “Edit” and then pick “Copy” instead of CTRL-C the word “Copy” stays on my screen EVEN AFTER I CLOSE LOTUS NOTES. The only way to get rid of it is to reboot the PC.
The only work-around I’ve figured out is to set the line spacing to 1.5 (one and 1/2) instead of single. I saved this as my *DefaultStyleForMail.
The little boogers go away, but the side effect is that my spacing is of course no longer single spacing.
This problem just cropped up a week ago for me even though I’ve been using Notes for years. I have no idea what might have changed to cause this. I’m running Eclipse on the same system and it appears that Notes and Eclipse both use similar Java libraries. Eclipse is not having any issues.
I have the same problem and have done everything in my power to solve it. I run Windows 7 64 bit with Lotus Notes 8.5.2. A colleague with the same setup does not have this strange behavior.
I have the same problem too. I am running Notes 8.5.3 FP1 on Windows 7 / 64 bit on a Lenovo Thinkpad W520. As well, other colleagues don’t have this issue and they are running the same hardware / software. Also, other software on my machine doesn’t exhibit this problem, only Notes.
