Scheduled agents dont run

Hi

I have scheduled agents which don’t run but when manually run they work fine.

I have tried everything to check including -:

  1. Uncheck the disable backround agents on this db on the db properties

  2. Allow restricted operations on the agent properties (when opened)

  3. Do an Agent test and ran successful

  4. Agent is signed

  5. I had the server admin make sure the server agent manager is on

But all agents on my database don’t run on their scheduled times.

You aren’t really giving enough information, although your troubleshooting steps seem good enough. For example,

What error does the server console give? Does it say you’re not authorized to run those agents? Does it say nothing? Does it run the agents, just not exactly when you want them to run?

Different solutions depending upon the answers to these Q’s.

I have about 6 agents scheduled in different times.- 2 agents to get info from SQL server (scheduled 1: AM and 2:30 AM) run manually and works.

  • Then the other 4 agents to pass the records to different databases. (Scheduled for all day every 4 hours) run manually and works.

I created a simple agent made it scheduled every five min just for testing but it also did not run.

Unfortunately I can only get the server log this coming Friday.

Any suggestions…

Do you have any ui classes defined or used in the agent? If so, these are not allowed on server run agents.

The thing is these agents ran on scheduled times successfully up until the 6th Feb. last week then every day after that they did not run.

Are they signed with your ID? Sounds to me like the ID they were signed with expired… Have to checked that?

Things that might have changed on Feb 6 …

  1. Your id expired (Yanick’s suggestion)

  2. Your id is no longer listed in the server document’s security page where it gives people and groups access to run agents

  3. Someone changed the agent
