Save Mail with disclaimer text

Hi,I’m not sure if this is an important issue as I couldn’t find anything about this here in the forum. If I send a mail with the disclaimer added via a policy it works ok, recipient can see it. But if I save the mail, the disclaimer is not added to the saved “copy”. What happens if I have to proof to someone in an legal action that I added the disclaimer. That is what the disclaimer is for, isn’t it, legal issues.

Even external tools like crossware don’t offer that. On my side as administrator I think it’s ok, bacause the mails would be twice as big as now when saved, but my management is very uncertain about this. Or is this more a question for a lawyer?

Thanks

OLiver

I want activated the client and server disclaimer and to make sure that the server does its work, I do not have to affect of policy on my account to force the server disclaimer, it has does not run!!!

I have a policy with a mail setting and, in the configuration document (Routeur/SMTP – Message Disclaimers) all is activated.

I launched the commend line tell adminp process mailpolicy

05/24/2007 04:16: 02 PM RouterDisclaimersEnabled changed to 1. 05/24/2007 04:16: 02 PM RouterDisclaimersSMIME changed to 1. 05/24/2007 04:16: 09 PM Admin Process: Completed refresh of email policies for 0 databases, 0 databases reported errors.

Where is my error?

Thank you

reg.

I’m not 100% sure but I believe the policy stamps the disclaimer on when the e-mail passes through mail.box on the server that applies the disclaimer. Try adding yourself to the CC field and see if you get a copy with the disclaimer added. If not you may want to look into enabling Journaling to capture a clean copy of your outbound mail.

I tried that with the cc, but no disclaimer there also. Thanks

Hi Oliver

Where does your disclaimer get appended? Ours is stamped on by MIMESweeper and I assume you could demonstrate how your outbound rule is applied to every email that leaves the company.
