its midnight, i am still at the office, PLEASE HELP ! :(i had to reinstall sametime on out domain at work. this is also a clean installation
of domino on the same machine.
after installing domino and adding it to the domain, everything looks good. i am also able
to login from the administrator client remotely to it, and replication
with all the other servers in the domain also seems to work fine. however, when i install
sametime (3.1) on that machine, and it successfully installed to the same directory as
domino (the default), strange things happen :
- when trying to login to the domino server remotely from the administrator client, i get
an error message that’s saying :
“connection faild. the server you connected to has a different name from the one requested.”
- when choosing the local server id from the sametime configuration (right after the
installation is done) it gets to “setting up authontication system” and then complains about unable to create “stconf"nsf”, and says that file may have been damaged…
and this is it !
i cannot access the server anymore from the administrator client (same error message keeps
coming back, and sametime will return the same error message every time.
i tried choosing the local server id, and also the hub server’s id in the initial
configuration, i get the same error all the time.
i am a little new to domino, and besides the course I’ve been through a couple of weeks ago,
i have very little practical experience.
could someone please point me to the right direction where to start looking for the problem ?
thanks,
tal.
