I have started upgrading my clients from 7.0.2 to 8.5 Basic using Smart Upgrade. On some of the clients, the “Log On to Sametime” is not showing up on the bottom status bar and when going to File, Instant Messaging, “Log On…” is grayed out. How can I correct this?

You have to ensure that the sametime server is listed in the personal address book. Overlooked that!
