HI Ive installed Sametime 3.01 on a domino 6.5 server. I know this configuration is not supported but i thought id give it a go anyway.
I’ve followed all the installation instructions and spent the last three days searching the notes.net forum and the lotus.com knowledge base but i cant quite overcome the following issue.
I can logon ok with the sametime client but i am unable to logon to the sametime server using the domino username and password dialogue.
I do not get logon failure… i just get a repeating logon screen.
Ive just found technote regarding this issue but it has not resolved the problem.
You need to logon using the Fully Qualified hostname versus a shortname or ip address. This has been discussed many times in the Sametime forum, link on lower right of this window. Be sure to check out the discussions there.

HI Thanks for the reply. I have done so.
As far as i can work out e have followed all instructions to the letter. Ive downloaded both the installation guide and the administration guide and run through them both multiple times.
IS there some debug i may be able to run?
Im thinking about downgrading to 6.02. Would this have any effetc on the other 6.5 servers that make up the rest of the domain. ie… with regards to design and template replicaiton from a lower release.

Look at this before you downgrade.
On your local client, location document, servers tab, is the sametime server listed here hierarchically? Because if it is, you need to change it to internet notation. Mine is sametime.mydomain.com.
This was what was keeping me from conneting my integrated client to my sametime server. Now everything works fine.
