We have received Sametime 3.1 as part of the new free deal, and I did the following :

Upgraded Domino to 6.51

Restarted Domino - seemed ok, everything running.

Downed Domino, and installed Sametime 3.1 on same server (I am told this should be ok) and also ran the ‘interim 3.1 fix’ supplied .

Restarted Domino - all seemed ok, and I can now see ‘Sametime Server Running’ when I show tasks.
Unfortunately, I cannot get my client (v 6.51) to find the server whenever I try to log on to instant messaging.
I have tried common server name , fully qualified internet host name of the server, and full name of server (e.g. cn=xxx,o=xxx etc) in both my current location document and my person document in the Notes directory. However, whenever I try to connect, I get an error dialog box with a message in a grey box ‘Invalid Password’, followed by ‘Instant messaging server name not found’.
Also, the server document in the Directory now has a ‘Sametime’ tab, but it is completely blank.
I accepted the install default settings for Sametime - and my client location document is set (‘Instant Messaging’ tab) to ‘Direct connection using IBM Lotus Instant Messaging protocol’ on port 1533).
I am doing something wrong. What?
Any help gratefully received.
ps. If we ever get it working, can we get users to auto log on to IM rather than a separate log in box once they open the notes client?
