Sametime 6.5.1 and Domino 6.5.4

Hi,

Currently we have Domino 6.0.4, and we are going to upgrade to 6.5.4.

We also want to run sametime on our servers,

but the sametime version is 6.5.1.

Will sametime 6.5.1 run on Domino 6.5.4 ?

Regards

Alex

Hi Kjeld

What you means with “but a fix is needed for the Domino server”?

I try to install a InstantMasseging (Sametime) 6.5.1 on a Domino Server 6.5.3FP1 English. Do you know if is OK, or I need a “fix”?

Thank for you help

Marco

Hi,

It should be OK with the 653. I asked a Lotus Supporter the question the other day as I am current with Domino 651 for the ST and the answer was yes.

Regarding the fix for 654 have I seen this in the release note for Domino, will try to find the link (… 5 minutes later…)

Sorry, I just see it was for QP on 654. To be sure about ST on 654 will I suggest you contact Lotus for a valid answer (please let me know).

We have installed 6.5.1 on 6.5.4 and for the past week all is running well.

I have upgraded the Server to 6.5.4 and one XP client to 6.5.4. Sametime doesn’t work on that client anymore. In the release notes, I found some mention of a patch, but now I can’t find it. Can anyone help? BTW, other 6.5.3 clients still work. Basically, IM rejects my password.

Actually, running Sametime from the bookmark is OK. It is the the IM section where I cannot log on anymore. The error comes back “Invalid Password”. Another fellow said there was a patch? Any progress on finding it?

we had the same problem after upgrading our Win2K server from Domino 6.5.1 to Domino 6.5.4. Meetings work fine but some IM logins are rejected due to wrong password (believe me the password is correct)! The strange thing is that it works for some test users such as “a a/cert” or “b b/cert” but fails for usual regular users.

Subject: Actually no fix is needed. IBM/Lotus promised that with Sametime 6.5.1 and higher…

That if a Point release (i.e. 6.5.4) was not compatible w/ Sametime 6.5.1 that a new version of Sametime would be released w/ that point release → you would have Sametime 6.5.4 if necessary.
