Running 8.5 designer with wine on Linux

Hi all,

is there anyone who succeeded in running the 8.5 designer through wine on linux ?

I got the debian client running fine, but I’m missing the designer.

Currently I use the 6.5 designer via wine, and that works like a charm.

Any help, hints or links are welcome !

Subject: Unable to access data directory ‘C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data’

I am also trying to get Designer 8.5 working with wine on Ubuntu 9.10. I have been following these guidlines: How to Use Lotus Notes on Linux with Wine

I am getting an error message:

Unable to access data directory 'C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\Data’using preferences file 'Unable to access data directory 'C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\ using preferences file Unable to access data directory ‘C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\notes.ini’

What is the problem and how to fix?

Subject: Don’t know about Wine but I use Virtualbox myself. Works perfect.
