Was having problems with my rules and tring to get them to work. Was suggested to me to move the mail from my mail.box to db to view later. Tried creating an nsf to move the mail to but that did not work. I had to create a new span.box to move the mail to. I did this. The problem I have now is I can not release the valid mail from this new mail.box. Can some one help?

I don’t know anything about the span.box. The only .box Domino supports are mail.box or mail#.box where # is 1 to the value marked on the configuration document for the number of mail boxes.
You speak of a new NSF but only mention mail.box. Leaving me to ask what is wrong? Can you get mail to deliver from the mail.box and then to the mail files?
If you are trying to make the old mail.box into span.box I would suggest to not use a .box file extension or move the span.box away from the root of notes directory. There is nothing wrong with having the mail.box copied to your desktop.
My guess is that there is corruption somewhere.
My suggestion of a quick fix is to shut down the server, remove all the .box files from the server data directory, and move it to your desktop. Allow the server to start up and it should create the mail.box correctly. Mail should work then. Then from your desktop cut and paste the messages in the old mail box to the new one if they need to be delivered.
If something halts (or breaks) then the old mail box messages are corrupted and will need to be discarded.
HTH – Cheers

I am not sure by your post how you have created your ‘view later’ database nor on which template this new database is based, but I can tell you what I have been doing here.
I have created a SPAM database using the Mail Journaling template. My server rules move messages to this database when they match my domain criteria. I updated the database so I could see the Tools|Preferences button in my main view. I switched to our admin ID, changed the Mail File owner info to the admin name, and created this signature that is automatically added:
This message was stopped by our SPAM database because a portion of the sender’s address matches our current criteria for SPAM generators.
I check the SPAM database on a regular basis and will forward any messages that appear to be legitimate to the intended recipients. I will then make every attempt to update our sender address criteria so messages of this type are not held in the future.
Thanks,

I monitor this database on a regular basis. When I find a legitimate message, I open it, select ‘Reply with History’, update the To: information to reflect the intended recipient, and send the message.
We are a small shop here, so this has worked fairly well so far. To be honest, I only receive a handful of legitimate messages in the SPAM database each day.
If you have any questions, or if my response seems to ramble, please let me know.
