Rule to move to trash

Hi guys,

I have searched for this in the R5 and R6/R7 forums but…

I can’t seem to create a rule to move mails to trash. In the actions section, the folders to choose from list all others but trash (inbox, junk, and then created folders, etc).

If I manually type in $Trash or ($Trash) into the actions field, it accepts it but on testing it, the mail appears in the all docs view but hasn’t been sent to trash.

Is there any way to do this? Reason being that I need to make use of the soft deletions on the trash folder.

  • Mine shows “delete” as an action. That’s what I use. Hope this helps…

Unfortunately that just totally rejects the mail and doesn’t send it to trash where I need the mails to go so that they can then be auto purged after a set time, set in the soft delete database property.
