RT field with bitmap (embedded picture) loses its data when edited thu Web

I have a form that is used both on the Notes client side and the Web side.

Here’s my scenario:

  1. User edits a document on the Notes side and pastes a graphic image into a rich text field. This works perfectly.

  2. User later views the same document on the web. The pasted graphic displays properly.

  3. User edits the same document on the web. The pasted graphic disappears.

Is there anything I can do to prevent the graphic that was pasted into the RT field from disappearing?

Which option are you using for editing through the web? There are three options natively, although none are very good, and all three could have caused the image loss. The “Best Fit for OS” is the best choice for web editing, but will only work properly in Internet Explorer on Windows platforms, if that is of concern to you.

You might want to try our CoexEdit software, which allows use of full featured web editor on the web, and still allows excellent fidelity when editing inb Notes, so your images, doclinks, tables and attachments will be preserved and can be create/modified on other client.

FYI - I just checked, and this doesn’t even work in V7 of the TeamRoom template.

Subject: limitation of the current implementation

Editing from the web will loose embedded images, the images associated with an embedded attachment, and probably the non-visible parts of a tab table.
