Routing mail from Domino to one mailbox on Exchange

Good Morning,

Our Callcenter is implementing Email Queuing. The requirements need an Exchange server setup. This is all done and most of it is working properly.

The only thing not working is when I send an email from my Domino domain to this exchange server. The Domino domain is called xyz.com We have setup the Exchange server is a domain called Callcenter.xyz.com.

When I attempt to send an email from my Lotus Notes account to the Callcenter account, the email hits our SMTP server and then from there goes to our Spam Filtering device. Who knows where it goes from there.

Is there a way that the email would go from our SMTP server directly to the Exchange server?

If anyone could provide me links/instructions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

I assume your Global domain document has XYZ.com in it. Therefore trying to route mail to callcenter.xyz.com will be very difficult. You should have setup the exchange server in it’s own separate domain so the Domino router knows to send it externally.

You’ll have to track the entire message onto your appliance and see where it’s getting stuck. If you hard code callcenter.xyz.com on the appliance so it points to the IP address of the Exchange server that might work.

You can also add the exchange server IP and domain to the host file of your Domino SMTP server so it’ll route directly to your Exchange server. Host file overrides any DNS config.
