How do I configure my router to send any mail addressed to a specific external domain (e.g., xyz.com) to a specific SMTP server (e.g., smtp.xyz.com)? I don’t want the router to do a DNS lookup on this domain. Thanks!

Try to put that domain in the HOSTS file
on server or hardcode your internal DNS
(the one Domino is using) I think that the SMTP
you are using have to be open relay for
domain “xyz.com”
I would do that kind of configuration in
my firewalls (WatchGuard) SMTP rules.
Just sugestions … never tried that …

Hi Samir,
Create a “Foreign SMTP Domain” document.
In the Domino Directory, go to Configuration->Messaging->Domains and Choose “Add Domain”
Change the Domain type to “Foreign SMTP Domain”, and under the Routing tab, add the name of the domain and on the right, add the internet host (DNS or IP) that you want that mail directed to…
Hope this helps,
