Subject: Router / DNS Problem?
Hi Antonny,
same thing here. Some (!) Mails go out, others get stuck in the mailbox.
after a restart these mails are routed.
it seems to me as if this is an DNS problem. Those mails which are stuck are not transferred because DOMINO does not find the mx-record of the target domain. after a router restart it finds the target mx and can send.
please check your logs for entries like this:
Router: No messages transferred to <domainname.com> (host <domainname.com>) via SMTP: The server is not responding. (Where <domainname.com> is the name of the target domain).
Normally this entry reads like this:
Router: Transferred 1 messages to <domainname.com> (host .<domainname.com>) via SMTP
Sorry, this is no solution, but a step on the way to solve the problem.
cheers
EKKI
Subject: Router DNS problem.
Having the same issue here ever since going to 8.01. Every 10 or 11 hours, have to tell router quit and start router for mail to start flowing again. Never happened on 6.54 in 3 years. Do not think it is a DNS issue, as I can tracert to the failing domains even when Domino router cant find it.
Subject: Same issue in 8.0
I am seeing the same thing. How did this turn out? Was it DNS? What can be done to resolve this?
