what have i to check for it?

Subject: Router : Failed to connect to SMTP host

  1. Make sure dns is filled in correctly on your domino server. Reboot domino if changed.2. From your domino server try a nslookup to the domain abc.com, and look for the mx record.

  2. Execute “telnet mail.abc.com 25” on the command line of your domino server. Replace mail.abc.com with the name you found in the mx records via nslookup. Here you will connect with the same server your domino is trying to connect to.

If telnet doesn’t work, try to connect with another smtp server. If this works, most probably your network is alright (abc.com might be down) if it is not then you might be unable to connect to another mail server due to firewall/router or ISP traffic blocking.
