These errors
Updated from 7.0.2 to 8.5.1 FP2 updated rooms and resources dbase to 8.5 template - still seeing these errors at boot in domino admin.

Subject: Mail template version
What version of mail template is the mail file in question based on? Is it a customized template? If the mail file is based on a template from an earlier release of Domino and/or is customized that could be the problem. This error is saying that the mail file contains Notes items (fields) that Domino does not recognize.

Subject: Rooms and Resources error after upgrade
Thanks Bruce - I had already opened each individual Resource in the database and Edited/Saved & closed. It made no difference. I did it again and removed any user specific permissions to each resource and set it to 24 hours availability, instead of days. It didnt seem to make any difference. I also replaced the Design again. Restarted the server and still the same errors.—
None of our templates they are customized straight out of the box 7.0.2.

I have seen this once before when upgrading from pre-R7 to R7.x.which is not your case here. Have you used NotesPeek or your favorite tool to see which docs those NoteIDs are? Are they Room profile docs? Are they a reservation from long ago?
Once you can tell us a bit more about the docs in question we can take another run at figuring it out for you.

Ok I reread the original posting and noticed that the docs in question are in fact room profile docs:

so that gets us past my first set of questions.
The only time I saw this reported for Room profile docs was when a room had an owner restriction of some kind set but it lacked the actual restriction items on the note for RnRMgr to pick up and use.
If you were upgrading from pre-7.x then I would not be surprised to see it due to some older and more lax template coding. Since you were already at 7.02 then I would not expect to see this kind of issue.
So please use your favorite tool to open some of the NoteIDs and find out what rooms they are for. Then simply resave one of them w/o making any changes to it. Then check the server console to see if RnRMgr still complains about the missing item. If not then the shortest solution is to resave your room docs to get the template to add the missing items.
If resaving the room doc does not make the errors go away then I would suggest you verify that you upgraded your R&R to the matching 8.51FP2 template before retrying the save again.
If after both of those steps you are still seeing the issue then it would be time to open a support ticket so that we can work with you and your dB to see exactly what is missing.
