Hi,I am creating a roaming user with roaming server specified as a server other than the mail server. Whenever I create the user the user is getting created properly with roaming access. But, the roaming files for the server are not created on roaming server.
Can any one please let me know what are the settings required to use other server as roaming server?
Converting a user to roaming triggers a cascade of actions within the Administration Requests database that (in very general terms) modify the user’s person document, create replica stubs on the roaming server, tell the client to replicate the user’s personal databases with that roaming server, monitor the roaming replicas to see when they’ve been initialized, and modify the person document again (to indicate that roaming is complete).
So the best location to track down the blockage in your roaming upgrade process is in the Administration Requests database. Look at the All Requests by Name view for a user whom you have recently converted to roaming. See if there are any requests that have failed, or that haven’t been acted on within the time you’d expect. If the cause still isn’t obvious, post details of a series of admin requests here.
From your posting, it looks like you’re using a server in one organisation (Server1/Org1) for user registration and mail files and trying to use a server in a different organisation (Server2/Org2) for roaming files.
Now it’s possible to have two Notes organisations co-exist within the same Notes Domain, but it’s fairly unlikely.
AdminP basically operates within a single domain (with some limited cross-domain exceptions if you specifically set things up this way), so perhaps we should check what’s going on before we get too far into this.
Why do you want to have users’ roaming files on a server other than their home server?
Is this server really in a different Notes organisation?
Are the two servers really in the same or different domains?
With that info, we can probably get a handle on how best to accomplish what you’re looking for.
