This is a very over asked about topic - but I can’t find my answer!
I have created roaming users - they are fully functional, replicating to server and have that little world picture next to their names - Dom Directory says they are roaming users… Yet I can’t get the roaming to work when I move to another machine…
I have installed client for multi-users, I am logging into NT as the correct user (as a different user each time I test this). If prompts me to setup notes, it asks me for my password, I give it, it then asks me again (if I enter it wrong - it shouts - so I enter it the second time and then I get the error ‘The specified item is not present’.
I did check the ‘Store user ID in the personal address book’.

Yup, I’m also experiencing this problem on 6.5 and franly it’s becoming quite annoying to constantly run into half-assed features that JUST DON’T WORK. Could someone from Lotus please let us know if this a bug and also if they plan to fix this in their next release.

A strange solution that seams to enable users with a globe before there name to actually roam to other PCs without the error “Specified item is not present” is to open their person document and press F9/CTRL+S. I guess you also have to clean their personal datadirectory before trying again. I use Notes and Domino 6.5.
If you dont get it to work by “refreshing” the persondocument you might also check the serverdocument to make sure the servers involved have right to “Sign agents to run on behalf of someone else:”
Subject: Edit the person doc, F9 and saving works!
Thank you for that answer. It did the trick for me. I had been searching a while and this was it. There was no need to downgrade from roaming and then upgrade again. I am running Dom 6.5.1 client and server.
